7 Questions to Ask Before Renting a Limo for a City Tour

When you want to organize a big group tour, you just want to avoid hassle and inconveniences. However, not every company can offer you that, while practically each one promises comfort and safety. If you don’t want to risk and are fully determined to get the best service, you have to ask a few questions before you make the final choice.

  1. Are there any additional costs?
You have to ask it in advance if you don’t want to end up paying 2-3 times more than you expect. Some companies charge extra for different features and that is something you have to be aware of. Maybe there are some hidden fees or penalties. Talk about that with a manager and read the documents you have to sign carefully.
  2. Do you have insurance?
Some people state that asking about company’s or driver’s insurance is impolite or too abrupt, however, this is one of the most important questions when it comes to renting a limo or a bus. You don’t want to be the one who has to cover anyone else’s expenses, right?
  3. How often do you inspect your cars?
Practically every legitimate company inspects a car right after it is returned from a ride. This is a normal practice, as they need to make sure everything is fine and working. A major check-up has to be run at least once a year. Otherwise, you are at risk here. You definitely want to stay safe while on the road.
  4. Does your company offer an additional driver?
If you’re traveling for days, you need at least 2 drivers. That is a safety measure that it’s absolutely crucial. If you’re planning to be on the road for at least 12-14 hours, there should be another driver.
  5. Do your drivers have a license? What kind of license do they have?
Commercial licenses are harder to get, as they require special skills, courses and plenty of personal responsibility. Some states don’t allow drivers without a commercial license work for limo companies, others do. Make sure your driver is experienced enough.
  6. Do you have a cancellation procedure?
You might not expect a cancellation, but you never know. What if something happens at the last moment? Or, what if you need to change something? You need to know if you have to pay extra for any amenities or if it’s free of charge.
  7. What vehicles do you have available?

Remember that choosing a right vehicle will help you save plenty of money. If you have a company of 20, ordering a bus for 40 won’t do you anything, but will be much more expensive. Each company, no matter if they charge you per hours or per miles will charge you more if you get a larger vehicle.

Renting a shuttle bus or a fancy limo is not that hard when you know what to look for. Remember that there are many companies out there, offering their services, so you can expect to find your best match. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and listen to the answers carefully. There is nothing worse than end up scammed or paying much more than you expected. That can ruin even the best trip.
